Dr. Gennaro G. Marino, P.E., D.GE will be presenting “Mining and Associated Subsidence in St. Louis and St. Louis County, MO” at the March 2019 Meeting of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers St. Clair Chapter on March 28, 2019 in Fairview Heights, IL.

Saint Louis County and City are home to a multitude of quarries and mines which helped to build the area from the ground up. This presentation covers the history and locations of the various types of mining in the area, as well as current mining and subsidence conditions. Attendees will better understand the history of mining in the area and how that affects subsidence conditions in the present day.

The cost to attend is $20, which includes a selection from the lunch menu, beverage, tax, and tip. Checks should be made payable to ISPE St. Clair Chapter. Registration and lunch orders will begin at 11:30am, with the presentation from 12:15 – 1:15pm.
