Testing Services

MEA’s in-house Materials Testing Laboratory provides the client with technically superior testing because MEA engineers monitor the tests. By analyzing the construction materials and designing the material specifications in-house, it allows the entire design phase of the project to be under the scrutiny of MEA’s professional engineering staff. As a result of this, MEA’s clients obtain a high quality product and accurate testing results.

MEA’s in-house Soil and Rock Mechanics Laboratory also provides superior testing which is monitored by MEA engineers. By analyzing the soil and rock mechanics lab data in-house, a better conceptual understanding of the geologic and geo-construction conditions of a site can be obtained. Also, a substantial amount of data can be obtained while on site through in-situ testing and inspection in addition to lab testing to insure that construction requirements are met. The process of monitoring, quality control, and assurance of precise field work requires detailed organization and professional attention. MEA technicians and staff pride themselves on providing the highest attention to the client’s specific project requirements.

Soil & Rock Laboratory Testing

Soil & Rock Laboratory Testing

Soil and rock samples can be obtained from the site subsurface by several means and some of those methods, as seen in the following in-situ services section, will give immediate results of the engineering properties of material being retrieved. The laboratory at MEA preserves and carefully stores samples collected in the field in order to get accurate representations of site conditions when tested.

Soil & Rock Field Inspection

MEA’s soil and rock field inspection and testing services cover the vast majority of construction related projects, with services including:

  • Soil & Rock Core Logging
  • Retaining Wall Systems
  • Shallow & Deep Foundations
  • Fill Placement

    Pavement Testing & Design

    Pavement Testing & Design

The pavement design services at MEA can be utilized for both flexible and rigid pavement structure projects such as airfields, roadways, and parking areas. A design project will often involve site visits and a geotechnical investigation followed by in-house testing, mix designs, and pavement design specification whether for a new pavement structure or a rehab assignment.
